MCA - Duration / Problem / Solution

Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
  1. postgraduate degree in computer application awarded in India. It is a three year (6 semester) course.
  2. Students entering MCA must have a bachelor degree degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects at higher secondary or graduation.
Master of Computer Application (MCA) course—84 colleges stopped offering the program this year; only 27 started MCA courses.

Alive to the problem, the AICTE has decided to allow colleges to offer
  1. Five-year dual degree program ( UG (3 Years) + MCA (2Years) and also
  2. Permit graduates of science, BSc (computer science) and BSc (information technology) to jump to the second year of the MCA course.
